On February 11, 2024, millions of people throughout the nation will gather to watch the Super Bowl. Football fans, friends and families come together and enjoy plenty of delicious foods as they cheer their favorite team on to victory.

While Fayette County residents feast on their favorite finger foods, many of our closest neighbors still feel the pains of hunger. Because of Fayette County’s economic situation, the Fayette County Community Action Agency Food Bank has become an integral thread in the safety net supporting low-income families.

Souper Bowl Sunday is part of a national movement intended to use the excitement and energy surrounding the Super Bowl as a way to engage people in service while producing lasting hope for all people. Hunger and poverty have a negative impact on individuals and the communities in which they live, yet there is joy in serving and giving to those in need.

Participation is easy and takes little time. Your community can participate in the Souper Bowl Program by collecting donations of non-perishable food items. During the game, as fans enjoys the bounty of food before them, we ask that you help us to remind everyone to take a moment to reflect on their less fortunate neighbors and encourage them to give to those in need.

Alternatively, you and your community can make a monetary donation. Every dollar donated to the Food Bank during this special event will enable us to provide $10.00 worth of nutritious food to needy families in our community.
